Admission Requirements

Entry into the Graduate Certificate of Arts (Writing):

  • Completion of an appropriate degree, diploma or specific studies and/or experience in specialist areas of writing such as script writing, copy writing, journalism, business writing etc.
  • Special entry through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL or APL) will apply for appropriate Junior College, Polytechnic, TAFE or other programs and/or relevant work or life experience. For instance, if writing of any kind is part of your job you may get credit or exemptions for it.
  • Students may apply for and be granted an exemption for up to 25 points.

Entry into the Graduate Diploma of Art (Writing):

  • A related undergraduate degree or equivalent with relevant practical experience.
  • Completion of an appropriate post graduate certificate or Special entry through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL or APL) for appropriate Junior College, Polytechnic, TAFE or other programs and/or relevant work or life experience.
  • Students may apply for and be granted an exemption of up to 50 points.

Entry into the Master of Arts (Writing):

  • A related honours undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of a 4 year appropriate undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Completion of an appropriate post graduate diploma or equivalent.
  • Special entry through Recognition of Prior Learning and relevant experience.
  • Students may apply for and be granted an exemption of up to 50 points.

FEE-HELP:

FEE–HELP is a government funded loan that helps eligible fee paying students pay their tuition fees. FEE–HELP is not available to New Zealand citizens and most holders of Australian permanent visas, however is available to Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa.
