Flexible degree structure

Swinburne's new Flexible Degree Structure adds flexibility to most of our undergraduate degrees. We've broken down the traditional academic barriers, allowing you to tailor your degree and add either depth or breadth to your education through your choice of professional majors, co-majors and minors.

As a Bachelor of Social Science student you will study one of the following professional majors to specialise in:

You may also choose to complete a double degree, awarding you two qualifications in only four years of full time study:

Bachelor of Social Science
Campus Lilydale
Course Duration Three years full time or equivalent part time, plus optional Industry-Based Learning (IBL) 6 or 12 month placement. Not available to international students.
Lilydale ATAR Bonus

We'll provide a 5 point ATAR bonus to VCE applicants who choose to study at the Lilydale campus.

To be eligible you need to successfully complete year 12 at a nominated secondary school and apply for a degree program delivered on the Lilydale campus.

Students may study co-majors and minors not offered by the Faculty of Higher Education, Lilydale through another Swinburne Faculty, subject to program prescription and timetabling availability.
