Chris Galloway's teaching draws on extensive senior level experience in media relations, public affairs and corporate communications roles -as well as industry best practice from Australia and other countries. He is a firm advocate of students learning not only what the world of practice demands but also about key theories that help explain communication, persuasion and the way organisations respond to different communication challenges.
Chris is responsible for the Public Relations major offered in both the Bachelor of Social Science, Bachelor of Communications and the Bachelor of Business degrees.

Research Areas of Interest & Activities:
Chris is researching topics associated with the theme of public relations and risk communication, especially in the area of climate change and other environmental issues. He is also interested in the impact of new technologies, especially mobile technologies, on the practice of public relations.

Teaching Interests:
The whole field of public relations theory and practice - but especially issues management, crisis and risk communication. Chris is also interested in public relations ethics and in critical perspectives on PR, such as those that see public relations as a form of propaganda.
